At the age of 13, I embarked on my journey of chasing dreams in Henan. It has been an amazing eight years, full of challenges and accomplishments. Looking back, I realize how much I have grown and how far I have come. Here are some of the highlights of my journey.
One of the biggest challenges I faced when I first came to Henan was the language barrier. I couldn't understand the local dialect, and my Mandarin skills were not as strong as they should have been. This made it difficult to make friends and communicate with others. However, I refused to let this hold me back and started attending Mandarin classes outside of school. I also made friends with locals who helped me practice my Chinese. Over time, I became more confident and fluent, which made a huge difference in my daily life.
When I first started playing basketball, I was not very good. I was weak and lacked coordination, which made it difficult for me to keep up with my teammates. However, I was determined to improve and started practicing every day. I would wake up early and go to the court before school, and then practice again in the afternoons. My hard work paid off, and I eventually became one of the best players on my team. Through basketball, I also made some of my closest friends, who supported me both on and off the court. It was a passion that kept me going, even on the toughest days.
As I enter my final year of middle school, I'm preparing for the next chapter of my journey: high school. This is a crucial time, as it will pave the way for my future. I'm studying hard for the high school entrance exam, while also exploring my interests and thinking about what I want to pursue in the future. Whether it's continuing with basketball or exploring other passions, I'm excited to see where my journey takes me. Henan has been my home for the past eight years, and I can't wait to see what the future holds.
